Best-known as one of the four members in the multi-platinum group Fifth Harmony, Normani began to explore a new musical direction on her debut solo single “Love Lies” with singer Khalid, earning over 1B streams and a 4x platinum certification. Her song with Sam Smith, “DancingWith A Stranger" also became the #1 most played song on the radio in the world in 2019. That year continued to be a big one for her as she released her single, “Motivation” in August with a MTV Video Music Awards performance shortly after where she also won a Moonman for Best R&B for “Waves" Feat. 6lack.
She wrapped up 2019 as the opener for Ariana Grande’s US leg of her Sweetener World Tour, and kicked off 2020 with the track, “Diamonds,” alongside Megan Thee Stallion for the new Birds of Prey movie. Normani’s latest single “Wild Side” ft. Cardi B released last summer reached #14 on the US Top 100 Billboard charts and the music video was named #1 music video of the month by Pitchfork and was #1 trending video on YouTube in the weeks following its release.
Outside of the recording studio, Normani is the Global Ambassador to the American Cancer Society, a Diversity Ambassador for the CyberSmile Foundation (an anti-cyberbullying organization), and works with A Place Called Home foundation. She was also named to the 2020 Forbes30 Under 30 list for her cultural impact.
